By a miracle Serena holds. It could have been Putinseva serving for the match. :cover

Is that just socks or Serena has leg injury and is wearing some supporting pads? She is not interested in playing baseline game. Seems it may be due to some issues as opposed to strategy.

Serena rights the ship after committing only 40 UFE in the first two sets. Now, it would be next to impossible for Putinseva to come back.

Even the way Serena is walking is somewhat odd. I think if someone makes her run from left to right again and again in baseline rallies, Serena could be exposed.

Putinseva engages in long baseline rallies, but she always hits it back to Serena and Putinseva is the one running from left to right all the time.

I have not seen her play yet. But, she is amazing. Each and every one of five match wins so far has been an upset (with Kerber, Keys and Timea being big scalps; Dartia and Camilla are no slouches either). :clap :clap :clap :clap :clap

On top of that she also created two upsets in doubles taking out #2 seeds Lucie and BMS and then later taking out Williams Sisters. :clap :clap

Serena will be ready for a big hitter she played last year at the Open...she already knows her game...the occasion will be too much for Kiki...
