We don't have anything to go on, since they've never played.

We can always find something to go by.

1. Kerber is bound to have a let down after beating Vika (whom she has never beaten in 6 tries before).

2. Konta's play is more aggressive than Kerber's. Kerber's basic play is still primarily a defensive one.

3. Konta has nothing to lose and so can play freely.

4. Konta would not be overwhelmed by the occasion or the opponenet. She has proven about not being overwhelmed by the occasion by beating Zhang in QF. She has proven about not being overwhelmed by the opponent by frying bigger fish such as Venus and Makarova earlier.

So, let us go with Konta in 3.

Finally, this will give a chance for Serena to punish Konta for beating her sista.

You forget the intangible of reaching their first slam final which I think will make this match a mess. I don't care who Konta or Kerber took out on their way nerves are abound to play a huge factor which I think if we look at that Kerber has the experience factor on her side.

I hope people have done their research to see that Konta trains in Spain. From nowhere to the AO semi final. A bit suss? Not in the slightest.

lots of players have trained in Spain, from Safina,Sveta,Safin,Murray,Raonic and many others...I think when the British tennis withdraw their sponsorship she had no choice but to work her but off to finance her tennis..

Well, AO usually produces surprise semifinalists, if not finalists/winners, more so on the women's side.

In 2013, Sloane Stephens had breakthrough; she was unknown before.
In 2014, Genie Bouchard had breakthrough and Genie's Army started here.
In 2015, Madison Keys was discovered here as the new find.
In 2016, we now the Aussie/British Konta making the waves.

So, I don't have too much suspicions here. :nono

The one thing common to all these girls is that they remain obscure for several years after that.
Let Konta break that trend and we can suspect her after that. :dodgy:

Looks like Konta might just give Kerber the match and not make her do anything special to have to do it.

Konta had initial jitters and so fell behind 0-3. Now, that she has got past it, she is going to send Kerber to cleaners. Konta has more aggressive bones Kerbie.

Yes, experience wins. But, I think Konta gets Kerbie on her next attempt.
