Good stuff from Gasquet, he might even take 5 or 6 games from the other semifinalist.

Todays Gasquet would take 1-2 sets from Djoker.

Novak in three. Oh, wait ... let me think about it ... no, Novak in three. For sure? Yep, Novak in three.

Thanks again, Nehmeth, for creating another poll/thread! :)

Novak in three tight sets. He can do a lot of damage on Gasquet's serve.

The ( no pun intended for Gasquet) rich (Federer and Djokovic) get richer with Stan outage. Damn.

This one's the joke of the lot. Gasquet won't get 10 games.

This definitely doesn't benefit Federer or Andy. Djokovic will be fresh as a daisy and he's the last person you want to play if your legs are weary after a 5 set war.

Agreed. Roger or Andy will need to win quickly to have a solid chance on Sunday.

Also, tented, I am not joking about it, but you should consider changing the poll into the number of games Richard wins. And then set the ranges
0-5, 5-10, ...
At least that would make it entertaining if someone gets it right. :snicker

If people are into it, I could add separate options for games won by Gasquet, and make it a multiple-choice poll.

They said this semifinal will be the first one. If Novak wins how do you think that will affect the way Fed and Murray play? Will they press harder?

My point was that Stan was going to be a more difficult match up for all of them

Stan winning was going to be good for Andy or Roger, no question about it. Andy prefers Stan in the final no matter what and I'd say if Roger survives a tough match with Andy he would want Stan not Nole.

Novak is a terrible match-up for Gasquet. He takes time away from him probably more than any other player on tour. Of course I was horribly wrong about Gasquet/Stan so take that for what it's worth.

I'll say that much, if Gasquet is going to trouble Novak, this is the surface to do it. On hards, it's really rough.

Haha, you could be right. Poor Richie may retire with about 120 different injuries due to exhaustion from his match earlier today!

I'm tempted to go with the crowd and says that Djokovic will smoke Gasquet, but I didn't have any faith in Richie for the QF, either. Still, Stan wasn't doing nearly enough on ROS, and Novak will not have that problem. Grass is it's own animal (vegetable?) though, and Gasquet might get a set, especially if Nole is cautiously protecting his sure trip to the finals.

Gasquet just played a crazy long match. No chance he even wins a set here. He plays too far back in the court to trouble Djokovic. Good for him that he beat Stan but Gasquet's main failing against the top players is his unwillingness to move up to the baseline and approach the net when opportunities arise. He plays way, way too far behind the baseline to trouble the very best on grass and this refusal to move up in the court always baffled me. Maybe it's too late to change how he plays but no coach sorted that major flaw in his game.
