Little surprised that you cover all the tournaments now but ok if thta's the politics now allright with me:cool:.

The first major throwback to the first of three premiers in the Asia swing is two of the possible topseeds out before they start:

Lucie Safarova who has been hospitalized because of a bacteria - no news of for how long.
Eugenie Bouchard who is still suffering from her fall in the bathroom during US Open.

Not at all hoergren, sorry if if you had something ready. I had some time today and was looking at the tournaments coming up. I live in Japan so I've been seeing some commercials for this one so I'm looking forward to this one. There's no policy so please add to it! You usually get the stuff I miss! I see most of the Top Ten players from No. 5 are in the tournament so hopefully we'll see some good matches. Good luck to Wozniacki! She needs a good run here.

It's okay - wasn't aware of your place in the world - my mistake - will be happy to supply where i can, #5 is out by the way as I wrote previously so Caroline and Ana are the top seeds. Looking forward to a new final between these two. How is the weather in Tokyo right now - hot and humid?

I live way down south but there's a typhoon heading straight for East Japan so I'm a bit concerned about next week's weather. We might see some rain delays. And yes! Hot and Humid! Mornings are getting nice though.

Doesn't Pova usually play here? She is not listed for any events until after Wuhan. I am a bit surprised. A leg muscular injury typically doesn't take this long to heal. I wonder if there is something else amiss.

Not that often. From 2010 to now only once in 2012 and withdrew from 2011 before start. Don't know earlier years. In her tweets she looks fine so I think she might be on top when she returns - whenever that will be. If you look in WTA's Notes and netcords from 14th of September - she is not listed in any tournament.:nono - but is qualified for the WTA finals in Singapore.

Not a very stacked draw. There's an opportunity for some people here with Serena, Halep, Kvitova, Sharapova and Vika not playing here. Vika needs to be playing more of these.

Agreed. Why isn't Venus playing here? She usually does play Tokyo.

It seems to me like Vika's team is a bit nervous about little injuries. I think they're spending this come back year with a kind of limited schedule. I would guess Venus isn't playing because she had quite a US Open.

How many points does the winner get? I assume this is so called international tournament (meaning an itsy bitsy tourney).

Maria Sharapova takes a wildcard into next week’s Wuhan Open. Good to see. Hasn’t played a match since Wimbledon.

OK. This is better than international, but worse than mandatory premier and optional premier (AKA premier 5). Some years ago, this used to be a more prestigious tourney than it is now.
