Murray looked clinical in dissecting the Berd today. Djokovic was forced to up his game to take down a resolute Tomic. How do you see this one playing out??

Murray in 3 (if Djoko plays like todays 1st set or worse!?) but... If Ultron shows up then will be "as usual" ;)

Did you see the match? Tomic was playing some excellent tennis, taking time away from Novak and forcing him to go for a little more on his shots. I actually think it was good for him to be challenged a bit before facing Murray.

I saw the end of the 1st set and Nole made some uncharacteristic mistakes (in tiebrak for example). Ofc he will play "different" against Andy but Andy was simply great today ;) It will be interesting match for sure ;)

It'll definitely be interesting. Andy won their last match and he's bound to feel an increased need to rise to the occasion. Nole will feel a bit of pressure, but he'll hobble about feigning injury at some stage in the second, Andy will panic, thinking "I've got him!" but it's only the old okey-doke and Nole will win every game after this...

Agree, Tomic from 1st set would do Muzzard.

2 sets for Djoker

While Murray's beatdown of Berdych was encouraging, this is Djokovic in China we're walking about. Even for a Muzza fan like me, it's hard to not vote for Djoko. Djoko in three. But I'm hoping Murray wins of course.

Fairly fast court (at least it has been in the past) so this one will be a pretty even match. Still at this point you can't pick against Djoker anywhere against anyone so Djokovic in 3.

I just can't see Murray extending himself by even going 3! He wants and needs to save himself! What would the point be in "killing himself" to win this match and still lose because Nole will probably outlast him? He always has a chance since I don't believe Djokovic is playing his best; seen better! He's been playing well enough to win, but it's more on the level of other players just not up to the challenge! Even when it appears the point is lost, Nole's anticipation has significantly improved! I've seen where his opponent hit a good shot, put a little stick on it or imparted some kind of side spin and Nole gets there in plenty of time to still hit an offensive shot! He has this afterburner that's really kicked in like in other players like Murray! He doesn't think he should lose a point; totally effortless! He's enjoying it and at the same time not extending himself! He's played about the minimum in comparison to other seasons of his and his rivals! He's cut back on his schedule and it makes sense since he makes the finals just about every tourney! :dodgy:

Why not? There's still a month from the Davis Cup. Why does he need to save himself? And in case you missed it, Murray beat Djokovic in the last match they played. There's always a chance for Murray to win.

This is Nole's time of the season; end and beginning! He's a step ahead of the others, barely giving up games when the others have been struggling! Just because Rafa's won some matches doesn't mean "he's back" either! Everybody's worn down for the most part except Djokovic! They barely show his matches they're so quick! You turn away for 10 minutes to catch up on some news and it's over and they're broadcasting the stats in his favor! I think he can play better, but right now it doesn't seem to matter! :p  :dodgy:

They've been playing with the court speed over the past few years. It's somewhere between medium and medium-fast now.

Maybe we also should say that Muzz usually is missing when is count on but I hope that he can make the exception
And about the "slow" court, I understand that it's pretty fast.........(?)

Kinda stopped watching and turned back and it's 5-1 now to Novak. This is a massacre.
