2015 French Open 4th Round Federer vs. Monfils

this is one of the early matches everyone was waiting for. And most predictions I have seen surprisingly are picking Monfils to win. Their H2H record is 8-4 in Federer's favor, but after winning their first five encounters, Federer has had a bit of trouble with Monfils, losing 4 of the last 7, including their last two matches. Monfils also led Federer by 2 sets to none in the quarterfials of the U.S. Open last year before Federer made a comeback. This one is going to be very interesting. So, who will win? Make your pick!

For my money, if it's 5 sets I'm uber confident of a Federer win. What I'm worried about is one of those flat Roger matches. I don't think Gael will be able to handle that sort of battle, but it means zero chance of a 2nd RG for Rog

La Monf. has a great 5 set record, and Federer has not tended to be as strong in fifth sets during his dotage.

the fatigue factor is True, but i think weather conditions are more relevant. Cold, wet evening would be worst case for Fed.

I agree with that, but have you seen who Gael beats in 5 sets? Guys he should beat in 3. Check out his record against the big guys in 5 setters. Particularly look at the score in the 5th sets. It's not generally pretty if I recollect
