Serena leads the H2H 4-0

http://www.wtatennis.com/head2head/player1/12135/player2/9044

They've met twice on a HC, one a 3-setter in Miami where Serena came back to win from a set and a break down. They've only met once in a slam, the 3R at Wimby 2010.

Who ya got: Serena or Cibby?

DC's second serve will be a huge liability. She is better off hitting two first serves and risking double faults. Serena to win this match

Serena! I think if Serena loses to anyone it will be Venus in the semis. I can see Serena doing a massive flake against her sister.

After her lackluster play in the 3rd and 4th rounds against youngsters, I think Serena will focus more now than ever. She will expose Cibby's weak 2nd serve more than Vika could. Serena in straights, one set will be close.

Cibulkova in straights!!! The Pocket Rocket will tenaciously fight through the onslaught and win in two close sets.

[one can dream] :)

I think the one statement that can be made for this tournament is "Serena, move your feet!" She has had some lazy footwork at least it has slightly improved from Hopman Cup.

I think Cibulkova particularly gives power players like Serna problems. I'm worried that Serena had trouble with Muguruza. I say if Serena gets it to 3 sets she wins. If not then I think it's Cibulkova in straights. She's becoming the new Li Na... A player who does well in Australia and then sucks the rest of the year. That is a big reason why I disliked Li Na so much. I can't stand that kind of inconsistency.

After surviving Garbine "Upset Alert" Muguruza, and knowing her sister is looming on the horizon, Serena will be focused and get this done in straight sets.

Serena returns too well to lose. The only way we get an upset is if Domi does not miss her first serve and Serena's feet stay planted. I doubt both those will happen

I was going to say about the only thing Serena is doing consistently well is returning. Everything else with her game comes and goes in waves of patchy play.

A few years back, the signature statement came from Oracene: "Get out of Melbourne", when Serena was playing from the Melbourne sign on the court surface :snigger This tournament you're absolutely right that that is now the new signature

I am curious how Cibulkova got the nickname "Pocket Rocket" what a foul nickname to have.

I was thinking the same thing yesterday. I guess whomever started it didn't realize its various meanings.

I happened to name Cibulkova 'the pocket rocket' due to her small frame and the amount of power she can produce. That was the meaning I meant by the way.

One thing I have noticed is Serena is directing too many of her shots toward the middle of the court with not enough depth. Muguruza really burned Serena a lot when Serena directed shots down the middle with little to no pace or depth.

Well, let's hope Serena avoids her sister's fate.
