Top seeds advanced in a 3 set classic, score:
Sw.Hsieh/S.Peng Defeated C.Black/S.Mirza 6-2 3-6 6-3

The #2 seeds were much more dominating:
S.Errani/R.Vinci Defeated Barty/C.Dellacqua 6-0 6-1
It was a beat-down the Aussies received.

The Italians are not the defending champions here, the Russians are, they are OUT!
Lots of ranking points on line here.

The Spaniards are set to play tomorrow.

Not just one upset, #16 seeds are out.

L.Hradecka/M.Krajicek defeated M.Erakovic/A.Parra Santonja

It seems both of these two teams are Cinderella bound...

Actually, although they might be tired out, I'm going with the Spanish pair, Muguruza/Suarez Navarro to beat Hsieh/Peng. (I know…a collective gasp of surprise goes up over the Frontier.) If that's the case, I'd be hard pressed to pick amongst favorites. Otherwise, I'm with the Italians.

But the Chinese women won. Aw, nuts. You were right on, Kiu. Well, forza Italia, then. :)

Don't you be giving fashionista's credit to me!
I didn't really make any picks!

But now I will.

I am going to back nista up and say the Italians will win it, although I have developed a very soft spot the #1 team and I really want them to win it.
It's hard to pick against the Italians on dirt!

Alright, credit where it's due, and good on ya. I haven't been watching the doubles, so I'll take your word that the Chinese women have been good. I'll still be pulling for the Italians.
