This is something DarthFed and I started last year on the old board. I'm bringing it back this year and anyone interested is welcome to participate.

I won the cyber pat last year going 8-5-4 (what can I say, I'm a girl who knows her football). Darth went 5-8-4.

My picks for week 1:
Baltimore @ Denver - Denver
New England @ Buffalo - New England
Seattle @ Carolina - Seattle
Cincinnati @ Chicago - Chicago
Miami @ Cleveland - Cleveland
Minnesota @ Detroit - Minnesota
Oakland @ Indy - Indy
Kansas City @ Jacksonville - Kansas City
Atlanta @ New Orleans - ATL
Tampa Bay @ Jets - Tampa Bay
Tennessee @ Pittsburgh - Pitt
Green Bay @ San Fran - Frisco
Arizona @ St. Louis - STL
Giants @ Dallas - Giants
Philly @ Washington - D.C.
Houston @ San Diego - Houston

I haven't forgot that abuse last year. You just happened to get lucky 8 times that or it was a very wacky season :snigger Hope you enjoyed the cyber pat!

Baltimore @ Denver - Denver
New England @ Buffalo - New England
Seattle @ Carolina - Seattle
Cincinnati @ Chicago - Chicago
Miami @ Cleveland - Miami
Minnesota @ Detroit - Detroit
Oakland @ Indy - Indy
Kansas City @ Jacksonville - Kansas City
Atlanta @ New Orleans - New Orleans, close one but that dome is deadly and they will be pumped to make amends for last year.

Tampa Bay @ Jets - Tampa Bay
Tennessee @ Pittsburgh - Pitt
Green Bay @ San Fran - SF. I'm glad this is the first game for the Packers, we will see where they are at right off the bat. SF is the better all around team, there is no doubt, I will be glad if Rodgers starts the year off well which he didn't last year.

Arizona @ St. Louis - STL
Giants @ Dallas - Dallas
Philly @ Washington - D.C.
Houston @ San Diego - Houston

It's unfortunate Ravens have to start their title defense on the road, but I agree completely that Manning & Co will look to step on their neck early.

Pretty sure it's the first year they've had the defending champion open on the road. I don't like it but I guess the NFL couldn't pass up the chance to have that rematch first.

Cool idea! I've been picking the winners from each week with my nerdy NFL friends for years. We are about 10-15 participants every season with the winner eventually picking a poor soul (either the worst or somebody to his choice) to invite us all to a Super Bowl Party and of course to buy drinks, food, snacks and setting the tone with a big screen, music and decoration. I'm usually finishing in the range of 0-16 to 2-14 and this year it was my turn to run a SB party. Imagine my face when suddenly 50 people showed up. :laydownlaughing The top 4 of each season also have the chance to hit the jackpot as we all raise funds during the regular season. The Top 4 pick the Conference Finals pairings, the SB pairing, the SB champion and the exact score. The guy with the closest picks wins and gets all the money. It's a lot of fun.

My picks:

Baltimore @ Denver
New England @ Buffalo
Seattle @ Carolina
Cincinnati @ Chicago
Miami @ Cleveland
Minnesota @ Detroit
Oakland @ Indy
Kansas City @ Jacksonville
Atlanta @ New Orleans
Tampa Bay @ Jets
Tennessee @ Pittsburgh
Green Bay @ San Fran
Arizona @ St. Louis
Giants @ Dallas
Philly @ Washington
Houston @ San Diego

Tough opening week with many 50-50 matches. I made some risky picks.

Your pool sounds like fun Didi, until you have to prepare a party for 50 people. :nono Anyway, you do have some bold picks there. We'll see what happens. The first week of the season is always unpredictable. It's really good to have you aboard.

Well it was an entertaining game but of course it could not live up to the hype which was never going to be the case anyway with the Ravens going through a tough rebuild and the Broncos trying to prove a point and just getting their revenge.

Not too late BB. There was only one game played last night. We'll just give you a zero for that one. Go ahead and pick the remaining 15.

It's about as bad as being 10 feet away from Tony Montana and his "little friend" :nono

A lot of close games today but no big upsets. Tampa losing to the Jets might be the biggest one so far and that's a pretty small one.

For the Packers, the defense is still garbage as expected but I was glad to see the offense look pretty good to start the year as opposed to last year when Rodgers was badly off the first 5 weeks. SF on the road is their toughest game of the season on paper but any loss to start the season puts a team in desperation mode in week 2. GB has Washington at home, a tough game but one they need and should get.

EDIT: Tennessee winning at Pittsburgh is probably a bigger upset, other than those 2 there were none.

Titans beating Pitt on the road is surely the upset of the week. None of us picked Tenn.

Coach Kelley did a nice job with the Eagles. Doesn't look as though anyone picked them over the Redksins.
