H2H is 5-0 in favor of Serena

Serena won the most recent meeting on clay. A straight SF at Madrid last month.

I am going with Serena! She is pumped and happy and Errani doesn't necessarily have the weapons to take her out.

I think it will play out like Madrid one tough set and one lopsided set. Dig in time, do what you must to win this title! Kitchen sink!

Errani has nothing to lose. I think she will come out like gang-busters and play a close first set, she might even be able to send it to a tie-breaker. That said, Serena is over her mental block of quarter-round loses ( I believe she said ...... enough) and will be looking to remove all obstacles in her way. Errani is a movable obstacle.

I think this is possible. Errani will throw out all of her clay skills, if she gets a chance, but it's a light-weight v. a heavy-weight, and I don't think Sara can tough it out, over the long haul. If Serena has a dip in form and concentration, it could to 3.

I think Serena had her moment where she was nervous. Now that she made it past the quarters finally in 11 years she will play with relief and hunger. She has never been closer to that trophy!

WAAH-EHH. Errani's so annoying but has a very nice game on clay. That said the rest of the tournament is pretty much a forgone conclusion. No one will beat Serena except herself. Going away for the weekend and if it's a Williams v Sharapova final I won't even watch it as that "rivalry" is as embarrassing as Fed v Nadal since 2008, only in this case since 2004 when Sharapova last beat Williams.

Unless Errani up that serve, it is not going to be close. Serena in 2.

Don't say that and jinx SW. Remember the USO 2011 and how that "forgone conclusion" turned out.

One match at a time.

She's always had a dodgy history at the US Open. This is Paris and a different matter altogether. If she's playing Sharapova it'd take a miracle amount of jinxing for her to lose. Everyone was making a big deal out of how Sharapova was the current queen of red clay and look at how their last match panned out.

Like I said, I think this will play out like Madrid. Serena just has to play smart and not overdo her shots. I can see Serena over hitting her ROS if she gets tight.

Errani will try to dropshot Serena like crazy...Serena better be ready because the court could play slow at that time...

Serena in 2.

I think it was John Wertheim who put it best the other day: "This is Serena's tournament to lose."
