Rafa leads the Series 9-0

http://www.atpworldtour.com/Players/Head-To-Head.aspx?pId=N409&oId=W367

Rafa has won all 4 clay meetings in straights. The most recent was the Madrid final last month. Can Stan's new found confidence break the tide against the defending champ?

Who ya got?

Poor Stan. Both times he's had a crack at Rafa recently when Stan was in great form, he's been coming off a lot of match play and unable to give it his best. Unless he recovers well it's 3-0 Rafa. If he recovers enough to play well for a bit he may win a set at best but imo it'd have to be the first set. The weather is improving daily though and that coupled with Stan's fatigue probably means he won't win a set. He didn't serve that well last time they played (again 'cos he was coming off 9 straight days play) so it's gonna be tough again on Weds having played such a physical match today.

If Stan felt the need for a rub down today, Imagine how his body will feel afterwards 2-3 with the Dirt Devil..

Dirt Devil in straight sets unless Stan serves and keep hitting winners well

Nadal in straights. Though he has to be sharp (unless Wawrinka is just completely drained physically, then it won't matter), as Stan can definitely rip the ball, especially if Nadal is dropping it short, allowing him to load up on that backhand all day.

This is ATP not WTA lol. It's best of 5 :p So the Nadster has to win 3 sets which he will.

Actually, if you put money on this and Stan retires after losing the 2nd set due to cramps, you would be a rich man. :D

I am a bit shocked that this is only his 3rd career quarterfinal at a Grand Slam. What has Stan been doing all those years? Alongside Almagro, Sánchez, Kohls, Blake, Santoro and others, Stan must be one of the best players ever to never make it to the semis of a Slam.

I hope Rafa's ready to take it up another notch, by Stan is also not in shape, it seems, to take on Nadal. Plus, he's never beaten him.

stans wants to slap some flat forehands to nadals backhand, that's the tactic if its possible to implement..otherwise its no dice stan, its rafa all the way to the vamos factory,

rafas bh is a bit wonky since his comeback..i think its the lack of power or confidence in pushing through that knee..or he is protecting it,

or maybe hit some underarm serves and about 85 drop shots when rafa is 2 miles behind the baseline.

who wins ?, rafa/wafa in one.

outcome isn't even worth discussing, i'm afraid.

so i'll leave you with this instead: wanna know how much the french love a bit of drama? on the french RG website, the headline for Stan's win from yesterday actually reads "Wawrinka crucifies Gasquet". no kidding :)

the english version is "breaks Gasquet's heart", which has its own flair, i guess.

Stan has never take a set off of Nadal by the way.

Stan has his best clay season this year, so i think he may be able to get his first set this time around.

Well, it's gotta be the first set, otherwise it will turn into a rout.
