They've met 7 times on clay. The most recent meeting was a SF win for Ferrer in Buenos Aires this year. This is a rivalry between two serious dirtballers.

Who wins the battle for Spain?

Straights to Ferrer eventhough I'd love to see Robredo win. Robredo looked incredibly fresh today considering he won 3 straight 5 setters but Ferrer will make him run way more than Almagro and won't choke so it'll be a rather routine win for Ferrer I'd imagine and Robredo's legs surely have to tire at some stage.

The only chance for Tommy is if David is still having physical problems, though I haven't seen them in evidence since RG started. And Robredo has got to be tired at this point.

My Heart says Tommy Robredo......my mind says Ferrer who has been quietly going through his draw in fine
form.

Tommy won me over with his run here, but Ferrer is on a mission on his own. David to make yet another SF in slams, third in a row.

Herios.....I agree. Its just the both Tommy's of this tournament have been playing well.....I think when RG is over for
2013...both Robredo and Haas will always remain in my memory.

Oh, absolutely, winning in those epic 5 setters, at their age and after all have been through, escalating through the rankings, you cannot ask for better stories

i'd love it for Tommy, but i can't give him more than a set - which would be the first that Ferrer drops in this tournament. not bad.

I'm guessing Ferrer in three. Four at worst. What I'd LIKE to see is Robredo winning I five after losing the first two sets. That would be awesome/gnarly/rad/tubular/groovy.

You trying to kill poor Tommy?! And just when he's finally back. :D Anyway, I hope fatigue isn't too much of a factor, though it almost certainly will be by later in the match.

Oh, he'll be alright. He's only used-up three of his lives. He still has six in the bag :)

David made it look very easy, his opponent, Tommy was spent, obviously.

Knew it would be straights after fatigue had to catch up with Robredo eventually. He looked fresh at the end of his last match but that was probably just adrenaline overload. Just a shame he couldn't have at least made the scoreline more respectable. Still, an absolutely breathtaking tournament for him and delighted to see him back playing so well.
