Good to see that the full match is available on the official youtube channel.
I'll be downloading this one and play it tonight some time. As i recall Peter put together a super display of grass court tennis, including the chip and charge off Boris' second serve (tactic you never see in tennis anymore) which surprise and unsettled the two time defending champ.

After that match the German shrugged and said, “nobody died out there.”

Rafa once said that after a match too, but with Rafa it sounded less like a therapeutic coping method, than a threat - “but next time..!”

That Becker match was a huge shock at the time, and it kind of changed the trajectory of his career. He wasn’t so imposing after this, and it seemed like he’d been struggling with the huge expectation that came with his Wimbledon triumphs, and that’s understandable, isn’t it? Hard to imagine how that felt like for a 17 year old..

Well said. It wasn't long following Wimbledon Boris starred in two epic Davis Cup qualifying matches against McEnroe and Tim Mayotte...
