Barcelona SFs,

Rublev (5) vs Medjedovic Q
Fils (9) vs Jodar WC.........I have been impressed with Jodar, strong off both wings, moves well for a tall player

Jodar is really coming on strong. It seems he just keeps winning, and going deep. He's about the same age as Fonseca, but has played a lot less on the ATP Tour. He's #22 in the live Race rankings...best of any teenager, with Fonzie at #38, and only Sakamoto also in the top 100 at #92. Obviously its still early for the Race rankings, but they do tell us how well players have done so far this year.

I really like his game, lets see how he fares against Fils in the SF
Also he could be in striking distance of being seeded for RG? if he makes the final/ or wins the final?

But he has WD from Madrid along w/ Djokovic & Fritz next wk.! No Stream created for Madrid Masters yet! Too lazy to do it myself!:fearful-face::anxious-face-with-sweat:

Pretty entertaining affair between Fils and Jodar. Fils putting the pedal to the metal in the third. Jodar moves great for a big dude but Fils is running him around a lot now.

Even in defeat the Spaniard left an impression,

"He's gonna be a pain in the ass to play" Fils said with a smile.

What I liked about Jodar in the 1st set he saved 6 out of 6 BPs, I felt his physicality was wanting in the 3rd set, Fils was the better player and deserved his win, still I am interested seeing how Jodar handles Madrid, where he has a wild card into the main draw

Congrats to Fils, hanging in there & finishing off his 4th ATP win in Barcelona defeating the "King of 500's," Andrey Rublev! :fearful-face::clap::partying-face:
I mean, that impression was really only left because he won three in 2020. He's got 7 for his career, same as Sinner, which is two fewer than Alcaraz.

Most ATP 500s (or equivalents): Lendl and Federer, tied with 24.

Kei Nishikori has the most ATP 500s (6) without a Masters.

Most Masters without a Slam: Zverev, of course, with 7.

I didn't mean "King" literally! It's the way I see Rublev; near, never able to rise to the occasion as he has only the 1 Masters after all these yrs.! :face-with-hand-over-mouth:
