Here is the one-stop thread to discuss upsets. I remember only one upset today off the top of my head. GS Champ Kerbie losing to a qualifier. Did anything else happen today?

No...still I am not surprised Kerber lost, her game has gone south since last year.

You told me this could happen, but I think I picked her anyway. I hope Kerber finds her game again, because I like her...person and game.

On the "potential" upset corner, Serena plays tomorrow. How're we feeling?

I have always said Kerber has the game for clay it is the one GS title she is missing, her whole game has collapsed, also mentally.
Serena has the night match with no fans,I feel she will get through

I don't think Serena will lose to Irena. I don't think Serena will win the RG, but she won't be upset in the first round.

And the highest seed to depart so far is Bebe losing a tough 3 setter to Zidansek. I listened to the vocal stylings of Barry White in the chair for this one. Didn't see any panties being thrown on the court, but instead lots of UFE's from Bianca. :maple-leaf:

Muguruza on the ropes. Let's see if she can hold on.

When Bianca won USO, I thought she will be a major force in the tour. That was not because of blindly rooting for a new player. To me it looked like she is a complete player having everything from good serve, power, finesse etc etc. Unfortunately, she seems like glassikori constantly being sidelined from injuries and not being competitive enough when she comes back.

Hard to see anyone else win RG besides Swiatek or Barty. Hope they meet in semis.

I would only give Sabalenka a chance to be a winner of bottom half. She should meet Serena again and if they do I think Sabalenka could win it this time. Sabalenka can blow you off the court, but seems too one dimensional to win the tournament.

Bianca got COVID and had to withdraw from Madrid and Roma and played a small clay tournament before RG after winning one match got a abdominal scare and withdrew before RG.

Shame in ways that wont be a final with the defending champion vs 2019 champion, though that is how the draw worked out.
Also a bit surprised that Petra Martic went out early she had some solid results before RG,with new coach Francesca Schavione.

I see why you would think so...I'm hoping not. She really is a very complete and dynamic player.
