Nice two-handed backhands from Millman.

Fed is not at all sharp today. He took full 15 minutes to finish the second game of second set.

First serve % terrible.

Had a forehand shank, volley error, slice error etc.

After missing so many breaks, Milman is supposed to cough up a break, but he did not.

At age 37 and in this heat even Millman isn't a given. I do like that Roger has stayed aggressive and that was also the case in Cincy. The problem is the execution and sometimes questionable decision making.

I feel like Roger is in a bit of a bad psychological loop. I have said before that he's not as good at facing adversity, playing from behind, or playing an equal as Rafa and Novak are, maybe because he didn't have to do it much early on. But what I see now is that because his serve is off, he's irritated and rushing, which worsens everything else. He's used to playing from an advantage, which his first serve has traditionally given him.

This isn't the same thing as saying that he is a big server who wins matches solely by virtue of his serve. It is more that he's a guy who thrives on being ahead.

Roger's forehand is quietly pretty damn good tonight, the rest of his game has been the struggle.

His backhand and movement look fine to me. Dropshot poor. Volley bad. First serve horrible. Return of serve not too bad.

Movement is good I agree but he's had a lot of backhand errors it feels like, especially on the return.

Don't quite agree. He used to beat Djokovic handily until 2011. Nadal is a different story.

I disagree, on top of the serve being gone Roger missed a bunch of easy volleys too. Milliman missed a lot of makable returns on 2nd serve BP's
why's he struggling with his serve tonight ?

Say mate, where can i watch this game online. Over here in Oz the coverage is fairly limited as SBS television, a free to air broadcaster, are doing some of the tennis this year, are only showing the USO from the quarterfinals on to the finals.

It's late and I've got a heavy week. I'm going to figure that Roger wins today. Would love to stick around and say shitty things about Roger, but that's not really me. I'll leave that puniness to some of you Fed fans. B-)

Fed had 45% first serves in in the first set.

In the second set, it currently stands at 36%

I am trying to find positives and one thing I kind of like is the movement to the forehand side and the actual forehands that follow...

I totally agree. It might sound crazy but his forehand looks like 2006 Roger, while the serve and other parts of his game looks like the senior tour.
