Isn't it time to make some predictions for next year. This year has been pretty unpredictable and I've got a feeling that it will not be so turbulent in 2018. Here are my predictions for the Top 10 and a few beyond, and it's not necessarily in the posistions shown even if it could be fun to me with Caroline Wozniacki topping the cake again ;)

1.Caroline Wozniacki - because she win a slam or two
2.Simona Halep - she'll be in the top as this year
3.Karolina Pliskova - serving too good to not be in the top
4.Jelena Ostapenko - you'll never know could be the Ferrari or the Food wagon
5. Garbine Muguruza - I don't believe in her - a roller coaster player IMHO
6. Elina Svitolina - we haven't seen the best of her yet
7. Petra Kvitova - of course she's back
8. Venus Williams - Venus will represent the Williams family again
9. Agnieszka Radwanska - finds herself again now she's not newly wed
10. Caroline Garcia - an exciting player but is she consistent enough?

Boublers

11. Angelique Kerber - she'll rebound she's too good to not be in the top 15
12. Serena Williams - she's not playing full schedule and will she be on top of her game - nice if she'll be back
13. Victoria Azarenka - with - eventually - baby problems solved she can be dangerous to most players
14. Dominika Cibulkova - she'll do what she can to get up in the rankings again - was a bit unlucky in 2017
15. Daria Kasatkina - she's a joker and can even be in the top 10 if she finds her best game.

And a merry Yuletide to you all from the old Scandinavian nisse

OK, he's my predictions...

Caro won't win a major.... I like her but it seems that one step too far. Yes, she made a breakthrough at the end of last year, but I think there a just players out there with bigger games when it matters.

Garbine Murguruza will add to her tally of majors. She's a big match player albeit inconsistent getting to the final dance. I'm going to peg her for another major in 2018.

Halep won't win a major... not just this year, but ever.

Serena will be back this year.

Maria Sharapova will surprise us somewhere. I'm not sure about her winning a major but I'm predicting her to make at least the semis in one major.

Kerber will rebound to some degree. I agree with the OP.

Ostapenko will have a good year. 2017 wasn't a fluke.

I think Goerges will be the best german - Kerber just keeps losing. I also think that Ostapenko will have a hard year - winning a major at 17 is difficult to handle.

Kerber already looks better this year than she did all of last year put together. Whatever she was going through, I think she has dealt with it and is ready to play again. Plus it helps that the pressure isn't on her anymore since her ranking fell. Osta had just turned 20 when she won RG.

Georges blows hot and cold. More cold than hot. She can't play this well consistently for the whole year.

2018 Predictions

Woz - will reach #1 for a few weeks this year
Halep - I agree she won't ever win a slam, but will stay in the top 5 this year
Pliskobot won't win a slam either. Too robotic. Doesn't move well enough or have enough variety in her game to beat the defensive players
Osta will make it to the 2nd week of 2 slams, but not find herself in the final of one this year
Mugu will not win a slam this year
Svito will get to a slam final
Kerbie back in the top 8
Serena will win Wimby and not much else

Must be a sign of surprise over your predictions - think mine was better - heh heh ;)
Yours was great. Mine isn't too shabby. I was wrong about Simona, but who could blame me after all those failed attempts in finals. Now she's coachless. Not sure what she will do this year. Have to start a 2019 thread...
